Q. Why was this fund created?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. The fund was created in the memory of three individuals who dedicated their lives to the\u00a0continued success and growth of the confectionery industry. Allen Allured and his parents,\u00a0Prudence & Earl Allured, felt that strong education programs, widely available, help to ensure a\u00a0vibrant and everlasting industry.
\n<\/span><\/h3>\n

Q. What is the value of the grant and how many will there be each year?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. Each grant will be for $500.00. The number of grants will depend on qualified applicants and the interest income from\u00a0the donations to the fund.<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Which events are qualified for this grant?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. Qualified events are sponsored by one of these organizations: American Association of\u00a0Candy Technologists (AACT), Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA), National\u00a0Confectioners Association (NCA), PMCA (An International Organization of Confectioners),\u00a0Retail Confectioners International (RCI).\u00a0<\/span>Examples of qualified events include the AACT Annual Technical Seminar, the spring and fall\u00a0FCIA sessions, NCA webinars and educational events, PMCA Production Conference, RCI\u00a0Short Courses. This list is representative, not exhaustive.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Q. I don\u2019t belong to any of the listed organizations, am I still eligible?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. It is not necessary to be a member of any of these organizations. The listed organizations all\u00a0provide educational events that are qualified for this grant.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Q. I don\u2019t have a company affiliation, am I still eligible?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. These grants are available to people currently working within the confectionery industry as\u00a0well as people who have a strongly demonstrated interest in working in the confectionery\u00a0industry.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Q. Is this grant available only to United States citizens?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. The grant is available to anyone residing in the United States.<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Is this grant available for attending events outside the United States?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. The grant is only available for events that take place in the United States.<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. When is the application deadline?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please plan to submit your application at least 6 weeks in advance of the event you desire to attend.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Q. When and how will the grants be made?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

A. The grants will be determined shortly after applications are reviewed.<\/span><\/h3>\n
